If you’re new to town or this is your first time exploring Chandler, Arizona, then you’re in the right spot. Chandler has been a town of firsts since its beginning.
In 1891, Dr. Alexander Chandler settled on a ranch south of Mesa. He was the first veterinary surgeon in the area. Eventually, the area became known as the Chandler Ranch and was the site chosen for the luxurious Hotel San Marco, the state’s first golf resort. Chandler officially became a town in 1912, which of course means the town’s centennial celebration is currently underway!
